    Description

    This duplex apartment is just 50m from the seafront and has breathtaking views along the beach. The old town of Sao Martinho do Porto is just a few steps away with its shops, cafes and restaurants.

    Furnished to a very high standard the apartment can comfortably sleep four adults (one double and one twin room). The twin room also has a full size pull out bed and, if required, a folding bed suitable for a child.

    The kitchen is fully fitted with fridge/freezer, oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine. The living room has a dining table and chairs for 6, two cream leather sofas and a large flat screen TV with DVD player.

    All rooms have terraces overlooking the pool and the seafront beyond. The pool is just a few steps away. Large Palm trees provide some shade in the grounds.

    Location

    The apartment is nestled in the corner at the northern end of Sao Martinho do Porto bay, next to the historic old town and the quay. All facilities are a short walk away including a wide variety of shops, restaurants and cafes. Access to the beach is down a short slope or steps and the raised position helps to provide the stunning views and also a good degree of privacy from the busy seafront.

    The bay at Sao Martinho is a perfect semi circle. The sands are protected from the strong Atlantic wind and waves by the small gap in the cliffs through which the sea comes in. The soft sand slopes gently into the sea providing ideal safe bathing for families. The northern end of the beach has all the facilities, including toilets and lifeguards in peak season. The southern end is a protected nature reserve with dunes for those who prefer a quieter position.

    In or out of season (average winter maximum temperatures rarely fall below 14C) this is a beautiful location to relax and enjoy the views.

    There are a number of other good beaches nearby including Foz do Arelho and Salgado just 10 – 15 mins away. The historic sites at Obidos and Alcobaca are 15 – 20 minutes away. Lisbon airport is 100km (60 miles) with a direct motorway link taking an hour by car.
